Do you publish posts on Facebook to advertise your offerings? If so, how do you determine what groups to belong to? Are you really getting sales from these groups? Is it worth your time and energy to promote in most groups?
You can search for groups in the Facebook search bar. You can look at the groups your friends and peers belong to. You can join suggested groups from Facebook. You can use a tool like Mass Planner to manage your groups. But one thing is certain. Getting your message out effectively to the right groups on Facebook with the right offering can be very profitable.
There are SO many groups on Facebook that are potential targets for marketing your wares that your message can be diluted. If the group is too large, your ad is one of many each minute and it gets lost down the feed. If the group is too small no one is looking at it. If the group has an odd name no one will find it in search. What’s the answer?
I have around a thousand groups that I actively advertise in. I do not advertise everything in every group. Each group you belong to should have a purpose and intent. There are many reasons to join a group. There are also good reasons to leave a group. Some do not allow posting to their wall. Some do not approve ads unless you pay them or do something for the group admin. Some just get no traffic and some have traffic outside your country of interest or demographic.
Keep your group list clean. Keep looking for new groups to join and clear out the ineffective ones. The post scheduling app Mass Planner is an important tool I use to help me join the right groups, keep them organized, follow group rules, publish to different lists of groups, recognize a problem with a group and leave them when appropriate.
Like4Like groups – If you are marketing on Facebook you need to be developing your sales funnels here. These are your groups and Fanpages. If you want you Fanpage to be visible and grow, you can join like4like groups with people who have the same need. Post your Fanpage link, hit like on some pages and watch the ‘likes’ tally up for your Page. I have sustained over 100 new likes per day for my Fanpages using this tactic.
Add me groups – Do you want to get to 5000 friends so that when you can post to your newsfeed and have it seen by thousands? Join the add me groups, where everyone has the same goal. You request friends and accept friend requests here and your friends list will steadily grow.
Specific niche groups – These can be for a specific group of people that you are targeting your ads to. It could be college students, housewives, camping enthusiasts, music fans…etc. Join these groups to get your message to the exact people you want to see it.
General sales groups – These are the ‘making money from home’ super groups. If you want to reach people trying to earn money online, this is the holy grail of social media. they come in all names and varieties, from HYIP, WAHM, Network marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Referral Marketing, Direct Sales, MLM, PTC, Forex… you name it, there’s a group where people gather to buy and sell it. This is your bread and butter on Facebook for posting ads and surfing for opportunity seekers.
